Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato doc

General description

Among the white grape varieties, Cortese occupies a leading position in Piedmont. Cultivated mainly in the province of Asti, on the right hand side of the River Tanaro, and in the province of Alessandria, on the hill system that links Ovada and Acqui Terme with Nizza Monferrato. Cortese dell’Alto Monferrato is typically a dry, fresh and light white wine and sometimes has a greater structure, personality and elegance; it is also made in a sparkling version.
