Production zone

Ruché is one of the rarest indigenous grape varieties cultivated in the Monferrato Astigiano district. It probably originated from a grape variety imported from Burgundy by monks, who planted it near the convent of San Rocco, which has long since been demolished. Dry calcareous soil and the considerable exposure of the production area to the sun, result in the creation of a high quality wine available in limited quantities. Destined for family consumption in the past, it was a wine for ‘important occasions’, offered to the nearest and dearest, always associated with life’s beautiful moments; over time Ruché has maintained these characteristics, becoming recognized and appreciated both nationally and worldwide. A DOC wine since 1987, thanks to its original quality, its success has grown over the last decade, consolidated by the prestigious recognition of Designation of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin in 2010.

Zona di produzione: Comuni di Castagnole Monferrato, Grana, Montemagno, Portacomaro, Refrancore, Scurzolengo e Viarigi;

Uve: Ruchè dal 90 al 100 % (Barbera e/o Brachetto possono intervenire sino ad un massimo del 10%);

Rese produttive: massimo 90 quintali corrispondenti a 63 ettolitri ad ettaro;

Titolo alcolometrico volumico minimo complessivo: 12,5% vol.

Production zone: The municipalities of Castagnole Monferrato, Grana, Montemagno, Portacomaro, Refrancore, Scurzolengo and Viarigi.

Grapes: 90 to 100 % Ruché (Barbera and/or Brachetto up to 10%);

Production yields: Max. 9 tons, corresponding to 63 hectoliters per hectare

Minimum total alcohol content: 12% by vol.

Not overly bright ruby red, with an intense and original aroma composed of floral and spice notes, sometimes joined by scents of wild berries and Morello cherries. It has a dry, harmonious and pleasantly smooth taste, with good aromatic persistence.

It can accompany an entire meal, from hors d’oeuvres to meat courses. Interesting with ravioli, cold cuts and moderately aged cheeses.
